The name of the beach is apt as one can lie underneath a blanket of sun and enjoy many a 'siesta'. To enjoy a fair ladder golf game, understanding the ladder golf rules and the game itself, is important. The weather is perfect, the tickets are cheap, and you can have a great time even if you are alone or have company. If you glance through the schedule of the major sporting events that are being held this year, you'd have a hard time keeping track of things. And if you plan a trip to this charming land, you will not be disappointed!
On Saturday, the town will hold the fourth annual Spirit of Giving: Holiday Marketplace, an artisans market that features locally produced items by the artists at the market. It will be held in the municipal office at Heminway Park. Because this is also Small Business Saturday, Watertown Recreation is working with local retailers and businesses to promote shopping locally to support Watertown/Oakville small businesses. Already in the planning are special childrens events in the Depot Square Mall and special events on Main Street. Those who would like to be part of these events, should contact Doreen Breen, special events director at Watertown Recreation, 860-945-5246, or e-mail her.
